Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting when she visited her sister Katie in the making of the movie Ladies Room. As she took acting classes, she also landed guest roles on Canadian TV series. The shows she had starred in among other ones included Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's professional career began to take off when being cast in the role of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. The show was cancelled after 9 episodes and despite receiving favorable ratings. The actress was born on the 12th of May 1986, was quickly offered another role in Everwood. She played Amy Abbott. Her performance earned her nominations for the Young Artist Award and four Teen Choice Awards.
